Our Philosophy

Kaitiatianga ~ Nature and Respect ~

A deep respect for Papatūānuku (Mother Earth) all living things and our unique natural environment.
Nature is our kaiāhi (mentor, guide and leader), woven in through sustainability, guardianship and responsibility. We support all weather, outdoor play and natural resources.

Whānaungatanga ~ Relationships and Respect~

Developing meaningful and trusting relationships with tamarki (children), whānau (family) and hapori (community) which is based on warmth and respect.
Respectful care is nurturing, empowering and acknowledges the uniqueness of each child.
Communication is strong, authentic and honest.

Aroha ~ Love is heartfelt here – Give, Receive, Do, Act~

Our teaching and learning is heart based where tamariki, kaiako (teacher) and whānau are heard, seen, valued and cared for.
We are mindful of individuals wairua and uphold their physical emotional and spiritual well-being.

Tākaroko ~ An Unhurried Environment and Uninterrupted Play~

A deep respect and acknowledgement of what tamariki bring with them (who they are) and their unique identities, cultures, values, beliefs and rituals.
Tamariki have the freedom to be adventurous. They are able to explore, discover, and learn whilst being in an environment that is inclusive, responsive and respectful.
