Welcome to Nature's Nest

‘Where learning & discovery are nurtured by nature’

Our centre is a warm fun loving place to be where children
are treated with respect & dignity that empowers them
to work & learn alongside others and where the staff
foster & role model some traditional values & manners.

Our values

We place a high value on incorporating natural resources
& nature’s lessons into our daily life.
A place where children & whanau can grow
a deep appreciation of nature & its importance.
This means within our curriculum, sustainability
is at the forefront of our focus.
Our environment in the centre reflects the magic
of the natural world around us.

Education programme

The daily education programme provides a mix of some routines and child initiated play.
We incorporate transition to school readiness, rich in all curriculum areas
which is woven through our daily routine for our preschool children.
For a term before school starts, a group of our eldest children experience a half day in the bush
on our Explorer’s Group, who experience exploring, discovering and learning with nature.
Having these new experiences children learn about respect for nature
and each other, working together and supporting each other.
Management & staff place a high importance to ongoing professional development, this is a
collaborative decision to ensure the interests of the individual & centre needs are met.

About us

Hayley Hargreaves

Company Director of Natures Nest since 2011

I was previously licensee & owner of Lollipops Educare in Orewa for 7 years. Early childcare is in my blood. My mother Suzanne Hargreaves founded the Lollipops Educare franchise and was an early childhood educator for over 3 decades.

This has provided valuable insights into the importance of quality early childhood education and ignited a passion for my own professional development within this ever changing field.

As a parent of two children, I have a good understanding of what parents face when choosing a childcare centre. I also understand the challenges of raising a child with life threatening food & environmental allergies.

My goal is to ensure that Natures Nest offers the highest standard of care available for families, in a beautiful, welcoming, nurturing environment.

Arnika Kennedy

Company Director of Natures Nest since 2011

Born & educated in the Warkworth area, I am a qualified & registered teacher. As a parent of two children, I have a good understanding of the concerns & expectations that parents face when choosing a quality childcare centre.

I am committed to the values of teaching & the foundations of our centre philosophy, building strong ongoing relationships within our learning centre.

With this new journey, I am lucky to have the amazing support of my husband & family which is greatly appreciated.

I love supporting our children in achieving their dreams & aspirations within the wonderful environment at Natures Nest Warkworth.

What parents say …

We are really upset at having to leave Natures Nest due to moving out of the area, it is the BEST daycare I have come across! Apart from the fantastic facilities, natural environment and stimulating daily activities, the culture is what really makes it. All the staff are caring, welcoming and knowledgable and this is a great reflection of the fantastic influence that you and Hayley must provide.

Thank you so much for providing such an awesome learning

We are extremely grateful for the wonderful learning that has encouraged our wee princess to grow and be challenged and we don’t for one minute take for granted the warm and caring environment you provide.

Her confidence is in part due to you all providing her with the right skills to develop & explore her very unique style.
